Margaret is a staunch promoter of the SDGs as business action. She founded this local chapter in November 2017 starting with only 100 members who participated in shaping and signing the first-ever global entrepreneurship declaration at the UNIDO Conference in Vienna, Austria. The membership has since grown to over 800 members from across East Africa with 2 key initiatives running which include the ELEVATE investment readiness program and a women-only hub called Women Biz360. Margaret, She holds a BSc.in Computer Science and has worked in the government and corporate sector for over 8 years before transitioning into entrepreneurship full time since 2015. Margaret is not only passionate about enterprise development aligned to the SDGs to see the scale and make a global impact but is also passionate about developing the entrepreneur explicitly. She recently won a special recognition award at the annual 1Million Startups global conference for her special contribution in raising awareness of employment and the future of work SDG in Kenya. She is also a winner and Fellow of the FEBA/Enpact Female Tech Business Leader in Africa 2019 and currently is a fellow at the prestigious Launch and Grow entrepreneurship leadership program by Women for Africa and Santander Bank cohort 2020/21 by Babson Executive college in Massachusetts. In addition, she is a certified talent expert, an expert in export market readiness a competency that has seen her coach close to 1000 women entrepreneurs in Kenya under the International Trade Center SheTrades Commonwealth Initiative. She is also a speaker and firm believer in Africa and its potential.
